After camping (not glamping) in a relatively unknown campsite – and I say relatively unknown as there were only about five other campers there when every single surrounding city had no vacancy no matter if you wanted a bit of land to pitch a tent to stay at a hotel – we awoke to a magnificent morning. Me not knowing what to expect as I had only seen the site in pitch black, it was truly breathtaking. Literally ten metres from where we were sleeping were stairs down to Middle Beach – a pristine beach where the only visitors were the campers above. Never have I been so ready to jump into icy waters at 10am in the morning! And I mean it when I say icy – must have been the fact that this was only the second day it had been over 20 degrees in months.
If you’re game enough to drive down here through the dirt track and multitude of potholes, definitely come here. It is the cheapest trip I’ve ever been on! Staying the night will only set you back $10 per person if and when the ranger comes along to collect.
I already wish I was back here.
