You won’t usually see me in midi length skirts. This is because they always tend to cut off at the wrong length for my body. First of all, I’m quite short at 162cm, and secondly, my calves are disproportionately large for my frame (I blame gymnastics). If I were to pick one body part that I was least comfortable with, it would be my calves. However, this midi skirt I found (at Dotti, of all places!), was perfect. Not only was it just $20, it perfectly fitted around my abnormally small waist and covered my abnormally large calves! The print was gorgeous too, and I was lucky enough to find it in a different print too. I was on the hunt for some French-inspired outfits to wear to Renault’s So Frenchy So Chic 2016 festival without spending a fortune, and I think I succeeded, if I say so myself.
So, on to the event. Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to join Renault for this French-themed festival and it did not disappoint! Previous to the invite, I actually hadn’t heard of this kind of event before in Sydney. The atmosphere was great, thousands of families, couples and friends laying down on picnic mats, enjoying the good food, drinks and, most importantly, the music. The whole day was wonderful, but I must say, the last act was the highlight. Soviet Suprem finished off the night with the most hilarious, dance-worthy performance that everyone laughing and dancing into the dark.
