So I'm back in Sydney and trying to go through all these photos we took on our holiday to The Whitsundays. First up were these shots (above) that we took right in front of our apartment at Marina Shores for the first night so I thought I would just do a little review of our stay there.

We had a one bedroom spa apartment on the ground floor. Upon checking in, we were advised to park in the free car space for our rental car (Yay! Free parking!) and walk through to our apartment for the night. In the 30-something degree weather, we were ever-so-grateful that they had already turned on the A/C for us to a crisp 22 degrees. Now, even though we were on the ground floor, our view was still so beautiful. We had direct access from our courtyard/balcony to their well-kept tropical garden where there was a beautiful water feature and some picnic tables that overlooked the ocean.

The self-contained room itself was quite nice and had everything we needed. The only con we had about it was that there were quite a lot of bugs for accommodation we paid $275/pn for. The bathroom had some ants crawling about and the couch in the living area had little tiny bugs that would jump on you from time to time. But I guess that's what comes with a room on the ground floor in a tropical destination. Luckily, the bedroom was nice and clean, however I think the carpet is in need of replacement soon.

Below are two images I plucked from their website and they are pretty spot-on in terms of photo versus reality.

In conclusion, I would definitely stay here again, but probably ask for a room on a higher level.
