Face serums are those products you never knew you needed. Growing up, I thought the whole world just cleansed their face and slapped on their makeup … little did I know. For the past few weeks, I’ve been trialling a face serum called RAW GLOW from a Melbourne based company, Dewy&Bae. It contains plant origin Chlorophyll with a blend of Humectant – so what does this mean? It works hard to remove blemishes and heal wounds whilst deeply nourishing to give your skin that amazing glow. This serum is a 4 in 1 treatment that aids rebalancing your skin, no matter if it’s too oily or too dry.
So, how did I go? There are three ways you can utilise this:
2 drops after your morning cleanse to lock in hydration and create a barrier to protect your skin from everyday free-radicals
Honestly, when I first started using this product, I thought that it felt too oily on my skin. I have a combination skin type (oily t-zone, normal cheeks and dry around the nose and lips depending on the season). However, after using it a few times, and applying makeup on top, I found that it actually helped everything glide on more smoothly. I was afraid I was going to break out in pimples due to the oiliness, but I didn’t. if anything, it actually made my skin feel more healthy.
1 drop on your makeup brush or directly onto your skin prior to makeup application for added radiance and a flawlessly smooth base
I usually apply makeup right after I cleanse in the morning so I combine this step and the previous one together. And, I mentioned earlier, I noticed that makeup application was a heck of a lot smoother after a few drops of the serum. Once you’ve layered on the primer, foundation and whatever else you use, the oiliness of the serum is absorbed and you’re just left with the feeling of a refreshed face.
3 drops in your nightly routine to deeply nourish and re-balance your skin to leave your face feeling youthful, dewy and plumped
My nightly routine consists of the following: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturiser. The extra drop at night does make a difference. When you wake up the next day, your skin has absorbed it all and I did feel like my skin looked a little brighter.
As for any environmental concerns you may have, Dewy&Bae tick all the boxes. Their products are created with natural, plant-based, clean and stable ingredients. It’s cold-pressed and steam distilled, all packaged up in recyclable and reusable packaging. Finally, one of the most important things to me, there is no animal testing involved.
