Styling with Boohoo

With technology these days, it is getting easier and easier to shop online. The variety available to you is almost infinite and it can all be at your doorstop in no time at all. When you find that online store that combines great styles and low prices, you bookmark that sh*t and it becomes your go-to for future purchases. This is what Boohoo is for me - affordable fashion with a plethora of options (an a petite range, top marks!). So here are my top picks from a recent visit to said store (you can shop all my picks using the images at the bottom of this post):

The Petite Lila Satin Applique Bomber

One can never have too many bomber jackets - especially when they have a metallic bird on the front. This bomber has my favourite colour combination, navy and pink, which is so easy to match with anything. Here, I have paired it with blue denim shorts and a white tee. Because the colours are already so bold, a white tee is a great way to keep the attention on the jacket, sort of like a blank canvas. For the bottoms, you could easily wear any colour denim, short or jeans, without much issue. Another way I would wear this baby is with a mini or midi slip dress. Dress it up with heels or play it casual with sneakers - both work well with this.

Petite Izobel Space Badge Slogan Tee

I love a simple white tee, it never goes out of style and it's just practical. Going out to the grocery store? You can wear it. Going out to meet some friends for brunch? You can wear it. It's just one of those things everyone needs in their wardrobe when they don't want to spend too long getting ready. Staying with the applique trend, this tee has two with one of those saying 'I need my space' - needless to say, I love it.

With the tee, I've styled it with some high waisted denim shorts, an oversized blazer and classic heels. I am completely obsessed with this outfit combination because it's just so clean and elegant, but also casual (-ish). Other outfit options: pretty much anything you can think of.

Shirley Plunge Neck Split Maxi Shirt

I always love playing with lengths and I have a soft spot for tops that have a longer 'tail'. What I really enjoy about this particular piece is that it is so unique. You would very rare, if at all, go out in it and see someone else wearing the same or similar style. This comes in cream, khaki and black - I chose cream just based on my personal preference of lighter coloured clothing right now but I could totally see myself in the black version too.

I paired this top with a simple base of a black singlet and black leather-look tights to not draw any attention away. This top really speaks for itself and doesn't need much, so keeping everything else basic is key.

Emma Tie Sleeve Shirt Dress

The last piece from my recent Boohoo haul was this shirt dress. I've been looking for something like this for a while now and I'm so happy I've found it. My MO is to find pieces that are classic but have that unique touch to it. The tie sleeves here are what does it for me. Here, I am styling the dress with my Adidas Superstars (I'm always in these, if you haven't noticed) so to keep it casual, but I could definitely put on a pair of strappy heels to dress it up a little bit or sandals for a day at the beach. The comfort factor is also a winning feature, especially on a hot summer day.
