If the current fashion era we’re in has proved anything, it’s the ability to bring back trends that we thought were long gone. Yet, with a few subtle modern touches, we find ourselves falling in love all over again. Not long ago, if someone was walking down the street in jeans with some mega embroidery down one leg, I would’ve thought to myself, what were you thinking when you put that on? Now, I can’t even remember what sort of pattern that made me think these thoughts. Cue, today’s take on embroidery. It shows its face on clothes, shoes and bags – everything big
enough, really. As always, you need to proceed with caution with top trends. There will be products out there that weren’t so well thought out in the design process and belong back in the ‘90s. Thankfully, I’ve only had good experiences with my purchases of late. Perhaps, it’s because my online shopping eye has been trained so well that I can see the true quality of things, even through all the Photoshop.
So how do you wear embroidered pieces? Because it is a
standout, it should be matched with simplicity – you don’t want to clutter up your look. With the Boohoo tee, I’ve matched it with denim. With the Missguided dress, I’ve worn simple black strappy heels. With the wear n’ shine sweater, a nude skirt. Keep the focus on the embroidery and this look will be easy to master. Lastly, have fun with this trend. It’s very playful, versatile and screams of Spring.
